ABOUT US

Culture Leads to Karma

GSPC NJ was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1980. We are one of the earliest Asian Indian Socio-Cultural Organizations initiated in New Jersey. We earnestly endeavor to preserve the heritage and culture of India & Bengal. The main activities of GSPC are helping the community through ‘Karma@GSPC’ initiatives and organizing several Socio-Cultural events around the year. Each year new members/volunteers join in and get involved with our non-profit charitable work.

GSPC is a nonprofit organization. All GSPC work is voluntary. No remuneration is paid to its members/ volunteers for any GSPC activity.

History

GSPC was formed in 1981 by some enthusiastic and energetic Bengalis, then settled in and around Jersey City, NJ, with the objective of preserving the heritage of India & Bengal. Some worthy pioneers of this committee are Dr. Suman Dass, Mr. Mono Ranjan Sen, Mr. Kamal Aditya, Mr. Ashok Rakshit and Mr. Pijush Chakraborty. As organizers of the Jersey City Durga Puja we foster a “ghoroa” environment where newcomers as well as old-timers can participate freely in all activities associated with our events.
